Despite personal hardships, including the death of her husband Caleb Willingham in 2023, Tammy stayed committed. In July 2022, she underwent bariatric surgery, which helped her reach 238 pounds by season seven of the show.
In a recent podcast with Ezell Film Company, she said she’s lost “three whole versions” of herself and is amazed at her progress. She also spoke with PEOPLE about her anxiety before undergoing skin removal surgery in January 2025, which removed over 15 pounds of excess skin. Despite her fears, the surgery was successful, and she recovered quickly, returning home early.
